At Cara Personnel we help schools find the teachers they need.  We are the first port of call for supply teachers, we provide a service, which allows teachers to find secure work on a daily and long-term basis.  By working for Cara Personnel Education you will receive regular work placements and excellent rates of pay.

Advice for Candidates Working for Cara Personnel - Supply Teaching

The following information aims to give advice to candidates in connection with any assignments undertaken with Cara Personnel.

Your availability
We would ask you to maintain regular contact with us in order to find you suitable assignments.  Please let us know of your availability as early as possible. We will call you as soon as a suitable role becomes available and in turn we ask you, to advise us of your availability.
If, whilst you are at school, you arrange additional work dates, please call us as soon as you can, so that we can update your availability profile.
If you are unable to fulfil an assignment due to illness, it is important that you call us as soon as possible as we may need to find a replacement. 

Arriving for a new assignment
Before your assignment commences, we will provide all relevant details pertaining to the school you are due to teach in.  Please aim to arrive at school at least 30 minutes prior to the start time to allow sufficient time for you to meet your colleagues, familiarise yourself with the school and gather information about the school day.  If, for any reason, you are going to be late, please let us know and we will contact the school on your behalf.

At the end of the assignment
At the end of the day, all candidates should allow sufficient time to tidy up and complete any marking required.  Please note, you should not leave the building until every child in your care has been collected.  All schools expect supply staff to mark any work, which they have carried out during the day.

If you wish to work as a supply teacher for Cara Personnel you will first need to register with us. 

In order to register with Cara Personnel, you can e-mail,post or fax your CV, or give us a call and we will direct you to the most suitable consultant who will invite you to interview as appropriate.  Alternatively, you can download an application form online and e-mail it to vacancies@carapersonnel.co.uk. 

At Cara Personnel, we meet all our prospective teachers and support staff to undertake a personal interview to assess skills, experience and suitability.

At interview you will be asked to fill in an application form, you will also be required to bring the following:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) with details of two professional referees
  • Evidence of qualifications and training (the original or a certified copy of your teaching qualification)
  • Photographic proof of ID (identity) and visa status (Passport)
  • Proof of right to work
  • Proof of address (a utility bill)
  • CRB clearance
  • Bank account details
  • National Insurance Number and P45 (if available)

 

After your interview references will be checked and CRB clearance obtained, Cara Personnel will keep you informed every step of the way.
