Car Scheme: To assist the elderly or disabled by providing transport to clinics, hospital or similar appointments at a modest charge with payment by cash or travel tokens. This is run from the Parish Council office in Stafford Street which is open from 9.30am to12.30pm Monday to Friday Tel: 01902 851786. An answerphone is available outside these hours. New voluntary drivers welcomed.

Child Minding: The following provide care and activities for children either pre-school or outside normal school hours, based at St Mary & St Chad first school.

Civic Society: A primary aim is to assist in guarding against unsympathetic changes to the village, particularly within the Conservation Area and to historic buildings. This is achieved through formal comments on planning applications. The Society also supports village activities, arranges regular talks by outside speakers and occasional visits to local places of interest.
