Brewood once again entered the competition for
the coveted Express & Star trophy (see picture) for the Best Kept Large Village
in South Staffordshire. Having won the
competition on many previous occasions, the more recent years have not been
so kind to Brewood with first place being taken by Coven - also of this
Parish – for the fourth consecutive year. The Parish Council is pleased
to sponsor the three villages in the Parish who enter this competition but
the Council happily acknowledges that it is the hard work carried out by the
volunteers who were to be seen walking the village day after day, picking up
litter and ensuring everything was in-hand that deserve the credit for
achieving a very creditable second place. The Parish Council are extremely
grateful to those dedicated members of the community who take such care and
pride in maintaining the village to such a high standard, in particular Jenny
Jackson and Dr Richard Taylor who spearheaded the entry this year.
