The magnificent Cathedral has stood at the centre of Chichester for over 900 years.  This stunning building has unique architecture from each century of its life, and is both ancient and modern, where original medieval features exist alongside world famous 20th century artworks.
Visitors can also enjoy the historic Cathedral Close and the beautiful Bishop's Palace Gardens, both only a few steps away.  All are welcome at this splendid Cathedral - a fascinating place to visit.

Bishops Palace Garden
The garden is located in the heart of Chichester in Canon Lane off South Street with good views of the nearby cathedral.
This is a formal garden with meandering paths and planted with mature specimen trees.  The garden also includes an ornamental fish pond, herbaceous borders, annual bedding, shrub beds, a rockery and rose borders.  The Garden has several areas of open grass and plenty of seats for relaxation.

Marks Hall Gardens and Arboretum

The Gardens and Arboretum located in Essex, feature landscaped woodlandwalks and footpaths, with vistas across the lakes to the Millennium Walk and the 18th Century Walled Garden, recently remodelled to provide a stunning combination of contemporary and traditional landscaping and planting.  The Visitor Centre offers a Tea room, Gift Shop and Plant Centre.

Hyde Hall Gardens

A visit to the 360-acre Hyde Hall estate is unforgettable in any season and allows visitors to immerse themselves in nature.
Hyde Hall is in an area of Essex that has very low rainfall, and this factor, combined with the soil conditions and exposed nature of the site, makes it a challenging area for gardening.
A visit will show that by choosing the right plants for the right places and by working with the prevailing conditions, it is possible to create a garden of beauty.

Join the Warlingham & District Horticultural Society for just £3 per year to enjoy outings to gardens of interest,
horticultural shows, use the village shop, plant sales, talks, quiz nights. Contact Derek Butler on 01883 623618 or come to the shop at the back of the village hall for more information.
