Invitation To all those skilled at shooting in the long bow- Greetings! Be it known that the Bowmen of Adel, as custodians of the Royal Armouries Arrow, do invite all true and honest bowmen, shooting in a traditional longbow, to compete for the award of this perpetual trophy in a contest celebrating St.George’s Day. You are henceforth invited to make known your intention to take part in the competition on Sunday 20th April 2008 by the completion of the prescribed entry form. Such entries that are accompanied by the appropriate fee, declare membership of either the BLBS or a GNAS club and a written undertaking to look after and return trophies awarded to them shall be accepted provided that there is space for them on the shooting line. Entries on the day may be accepted at the discretion of the organisers in the expectation that more courteous archers will have entered in goodly time and they will forebear such ill manners from others should their entry be accompanied by a gift (to be raffled) by way of apology. By order of the Custodians David O’Carroll Signed on this eighth day of October 2007
