Deaf History Scotland Inaugural Conference
Friends of the BDHS (which is not registered as a company or a charity in Scotland) have been working to establish a new Deaf history group called Deaf History Scotland.
It will hold an inaugural conference on Saturday 25 October 2008 at Deaf Connections, 100 Norfolk Street, Glasgow, G5 9EJ from 10.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a number of speakers on the topic of Deaf History, and the BDHS bookshop will also be there.

Deaf Cultural Event: Liverpool
A Deaf Cultural event to celebrate Liverpool’s Capital City of Culture Year 2008 will be held at the Merseyside Centre for Deaf People, Queens Drive, Liverpool on Saturday 6 December 2008 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
It is hoped that this occasion will also incorporate the 2008 launch of the BDHS’s new books, but the main focus will be to celebrate the Deaf History of Liverpool and Merseyside.
Further details, including cost of tickets, will be issued as soon as possible.
Advance Notice: BDHS Open Day 2009
Arrangements have been made to hold the next BDHS Open Day at the Deaf Cultural Centre, Ladywood Road, Birmingham on Saturday 20 June 2009 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This will be a joint event held with the DCC and will incorporate displays of artefacts and posters as well as the provisions of lectures/seminars.
