Chris Griffin

Born in Maesycwmmer, Mid Glamorgan, Chris Griffin graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1975 and he has exhibited regularly across Wales and in this gallery since the early 1990's. The formal qualities of the South Wales landscape continue to provide him with a disparate and dynamic range of shapes, colours and textures that are the starting point for his paintings. Often, using rich and emotional colour, the paintings develop into lyrical expressions of the landscape, or equally they may take its formal qualities and develop into balanced, dynamic abstract statements.
