Leonard Beard
Leonard Beard, who, after 20 years of
living on the edge of Cardiff moved to West Wales. His move to Pembrokeshire
was prompted by his need to expand horizons in both a psychological
and literal sense.
Already known for his mastery of colour and light, his painting now reflect
both a new exuberance and greater depth. Born in South London, early
inspiration
to art came from his teacher and mentor, David Morris. Some of his
early years were spent in the bustling environment around Spitalfields
and the City of London in the 1950s. The art galleries and museums
of London played a significant role in his formative years in shaping
what was to become an ever-increasing artistic awareness.
