John Knapp-Fisher
Following studies in Book Production and Graphic Design
at Maidstone College of Art from 1949, and two years of National
Service in the army, John Knapp
Fisher worked in exhibition design and for the theatre as a designer and scenic
artist. In 1958 he began painting and exhibiting seriously, mainly in London,
where he lived with his parents. In 1960 he married a South African which led
in 1969 to his first painting trip to South Africa followed by many others.
From 1965 he has lived in West Wales, firstly in Carmarthen then in North Pembrokeshire.
