Ray Evans
Studied at Manchester College of Art and Heatherley's School
of Art, London. Since the 1950s Ray has worked as an illustrator
and watercolour painter. A
consistent theme in his pictures is to capture the changing moods of the weather
and its impact on the landscape of Ireland and Wales. His inspiration was,
as it is now, Wales, where he spent a great deal of his life as a child on
a sheep farm on the slopes of Cader Idris, he has a deep and abiding love for
that part of Wales. Ray Evans now uses acrylic paints as well as watercolour
to express more clearly the emotion he feels about this ancient Celtic land.
He has extensively written and illustrated books on Art. Ray is married and
lives in Salisbury.
