David Bellamy

David Bellamy was born in Pembrokeshire in 1943. He works mainly in watercolour and puts great emphasis on working directly from nature in an endeavour to capture the atmosphere and character of a subject. By working in all weathers he is able to express the vast range of nature's moods with feeling. His interest in walking and mountaineering draws him into the more remote regions where the unspoilt landscape provides much of his subject material, which ranges from lonely dwellings nestling against a bleak hillside to shattered ice-forms on high crags. David has written several books and has produced videos about his paintings. He lives in Powys with his wife Jenny.
