ArtsWave

Bringing Wales
and
Ireland
Closer Together

The St Davids and St Patricks Festival which runs with events in both West Wales and the South East of Ireland is a new venture for the Irish and Welsh communities which border the Irish sea. Intercelt Connect as its name suggests, aims to forge new links between two countries which have been neighbours since time immemorial and which derive their cultures from a common celtic root.

From this starting point the Welsh and Irish have developed diversely in temperament, music, art, literature and not least, food - a variety which promises to enrich the celtic connection and inspire a vigorous new centre of gravity for the cultural life and fellowship on both sides of the water.

Although ArtsWave commemorates an ancient heritage, it aims to bring important present day commercial opportunities to its host communities. A programme of activities planned throughout the year will be the showcase for modern Welsh and Irish performers and artists, attracting visitors from near and far to the great benfit of local businesses, and the participents themselves.
