The character of the College can be seen in the light of its achievements, foremost of which is that all students have proceeded to a university, if they applied, with 95% gaining their first choice.
Some unique results inevitably follow from our unique opportunities, for example:
James Stacey improved his A levels by nine grades in one year and by five grades in his first term. James's A level grades were AAAA. He obtained top marks for a one year student in the A.E.B. Law Examinations. James is now an undergraduate reading jurisprudence at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford University. James was also awarded a C.I.F.E. Prize for his law result.
Amy Webb obtained seven good GCSE passes in her 14th Year, Year 10, and has taken an AS level in Maths and an A level in History at age 15.
Paul Jeffries improved by an astonishing nine grades in the Autumn Term in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
Lieutenant Justin Featherstone was seconded for one year to the College from the Army. He obtained two grade A 'A' levels in one year in English and Environmental Science. He now holds a permanent commission.
These results are not unusual and, more importantly, clearly illustrate that the College has no barriers to exceptional achievement. It expects all its students to achieve well.
C.I.F.E. Retake Tables show that the College consistently improves its students by about two A level grades in each subject in the Autumn Term, and by more in Mathematics. In Economics seven out of eleven students obtained A grades in the one term retake course. All three students in German obtained A grades last year.
