The Highwayman Inn

The Highwayman Inn was built in the 1600's and was until the 1950's called the Pack Horse. It was originally an old coaching as the road it runs on is the east coast coaching route. The pub itself had an adjoining property at either side, this being a blacksmith shop and where the car park is now had a stabling for horses and coaches. In the early 1900's it was known as the which way inn because there were three doorways into the Pub.
