Testing to a number of recognised global standards including AATCC (USA), SNV (Swiss) and BS standards are available.

Cleanliness Testing to BS 1425 -1986/91

This specifies the cleanliness requirements for filling, stuffing and wadding materials including feathers, down, cellulosic and synthetic materials. Applications include bedding, upholstery and soft furnishings.

Microbiological Deterioration

Rot Resistance

Testing to BS EN ISO 14119, 2003 measures the resistance of treated textiles and textile containing products to microbiological attack by bacteria and fungi.

This includes the evaluation of cellulosic containing textiles not in contact with soil in normal use and assessment of the uniformity of fungal treatments.

Soil Burial Tests

Testing to BS EN ISO 11721, 2001 provides the most severe test conditions for the assessment of cellulosic containing textile products intended to come into contact with soil during normal use including sandbags, shoe liners and tarpaulins.

Mildew / Fungal Growth Analysis

Testing to BS 6085 Part 5, 1992 evaluates fungicides for controlling mildew in fabrics for out door, above ground applications which are usually waterproofed. Includes tenting and awning fabrics.

Medical Fabrics

We can also provide testing of textiles used in medical applications such as:
