Our technical experts offer a comprehensive bespoke  problem solving and investigation service, utilising their specialist knowledge of physical, chemical and analytical testing and when required, can call upon the assistance of other specialists within the BTTG group.

ROUTINE TEXTILE TESTING 

Routine chemical, physical and specialist testing of fibres, yarns, and fabrics are available as well as testing of finished products including garments and home textiles. We can also apply this information to additionally assist with:

NON TEXTILE TESTING 

Shirley Technologies Ltd can also test a range of non-textiles such as toys and graphical instruments for compliance to product safety legislation and also provides testing to meet specific EC Directives such as the Nickel Directive

^{HUMAN ECO-TESTING : THE OEKO-TEX® Standard 100} 

Shirley Technologies Ltd provides testing and certification to the global human Eco-Standard, Oeko-Tex^® Standard 100, which screens consumer textiles for harmful substances. Shirley Technologies are the only organisation in the UK approved by the Oeko-Tex^® Association to test and issue licences to this standard.

Oeko-Tex^® Standard 100 is the dominant consumer focused world-wide player in the textile Eco-labelling field, and is becoming increasingly recognised by leading retailers as the industry standard in this important area of ecology.

MADE IN GREEN

This textile labelling scheme, developed by the Spanish Institute Aitex, brings together the elements of human ecology, environmental safety and social accountability. Shirley Technologies is a licensee of the label and can offer certification to European manufacturers.

GENERAL ECOLOGICAL TESTING 

Shirley Technologies Ltd provides a number of additional ecological testing services including toxicity screening for formaldehyde, heavy metals, nickel and phthalates.
