As we have in recent years, I would the service committee to continue with a mixture of hands-on and fundraising projects, working alongside local schools, supporting International and Community projects, both in our local area and within Rotary. Individual members on the committee will be taking the lead on a variety of different projects throughout the coming year.

Our hands-on projects are a mixture of Community, Youth & International. Continuing our support to:

• Keighley Stroke Club,

• Manorlands,

• Braithwaite Special School,

• Rotary Kids Out,

• Rotary Stroke Awareness Day

• Rotary Technology Tournament,

• Tools for Self Reliance

• Vision Aid Overseas.

 It is hoped we can support a local Environment project in Haworth. This is yet to arranged.

 This year the club would like to organise a competition for the 6 local primary schools - Stanbury, Haworth, Oxenhope, Oakworth, Cross Roads & Oldfield

 The service committee hope to raise funds to support the planned projects at:

• Haworth Carnival

• Haworth 40’s Weekend

• A Race Night in September 2007

• Collection at Sainsbury’s in 2008

• An event in June 2008

 Other fundraising ideas welcome!

 District 1040 Preferred Projects in 2007/2008 will include the:

• The Institute of Cancer Research

• Support of our local Hospice and/or local Cancer Charities

• The Yorkshire School in Sri Lanka
