Ormal is a privately owned company that was set up in March 1997, initially to manufacture the Vibetek® range of piezoelectric microphonic cables. These cables are used throughout the world in perimeter security systems. Since 1997, other innovative cables have been added to the company’s range, including both copper and optical fibre based distributed water sensors. Ormal designs and manufactures special purpose copper and optical fibre cables for OEM clients, working from initial concept, through feasibility demonstration, to design for manufacture.
The company also provides a turnkey electronic design service, developing new product concepts from feasibility study through to small batch production. Ormal undertakes mechanical engineering services for clients, in a well equipped mechanical workshop.
