From 1998 to 2004 the company's turnover has seen a year-to-year growth of between 23% to 30%, from just under 0.7m in 1999 to over 2.25m in 2004. Number of employees has also increased from initially the family members of 5 to over 25 in 2005, with vacancies advertised with the local Job centres and trade magazines, still to be filled.

Due to the growth of the business, MTF decided to improve on the existing production methods and fully utilised the production area available within the premises. Since December 2004, MTF have commissioned a £500K-renovation project to a Project Management company who specialises in constructing Food manufacturing premises, engineering and food processing. After completion of the project, both productivity and capacity would have been increased by 300%.

I must emphasise that to run this huge Refurbishments project on site along with the production is next to impossible. Which in itself is an achievement. This has changed our whole working pattern and a brand new Quality System and HACCP system is being implemented.

We have also concentrated on environmental management and human resource development. During the last 4 months, 90% of the workforce is trained in Food Hygiene and Food Safety Courses. This gives them pride and confidence to perform better in their job roles. Working conditions and staff facilities are improved. Staff is served freshly cooked meals on house, which explains the care and support towards employees. MTF is also committed to 'Investors in people'.
