PALM SUNDAY (1st April)

9.30 Parish Mass 

 We walk with Jesus on his final journey into Jerusalem, acclaim him with palm branches and tell the story of his suffering and death.

 

 

MONDAY - TUESDAY - WEDNESDAY (2nd - 4th April)

Morning prayer 9.00 - 9.20 am

Mass and short talk 12.05 - 12.30 pm

Evening prayer 5.00 - 5.20 pm

 

 

MAUNDY THURSDAY (5th April)

7.30 pm  Sung Mass of the Lord's Supper

We share in the last night of Jesus' life: his last supper, the institution of the Eucharist, the washing of feet and the watch in the garden of Gethsemane.  Our worship begins with a simple meal of bread, cheese and wine, followed by the Eucharist and then a silent watch in front of the Sacrament (church open until midnight).

 

GOOD FRIDAY (6th April)

2.00 pm Liturgy of the Day (prayers, readings and Holy Communion)

We share in the solemn day of Christ's suffering and death.

 

HOLY SATURDAY (7th April)

8.00 pm Paschal Vigil, First Mass of Easter and Party (service lasts 1 1/2 hours)

The greatest service of the church's year, when we move from the darkness of Christ's death to the light and joy of his resurrection.

This year we are having a joint service, to be held at St John the Baptist, Tuebrook L13 7EA.  

How to get there:  buses 12, 13 and 18 from city centre;  68 from Aigburth;  62 from Penny Lane.

 

EASTER DAY (8th April)

9.30 am Parish Festal Mass

We continue to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ at the Easter Sunday mass which will be followed by a glass of wine and an Easter Egg Hunt!

 

A priest will be available to hear confessions or just to talk/giev spiritual counsel on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Holy Week between 12.40 - 2.00 pm and between 6.00 - 7.00 pm.  If you would like to speak with Frs Steven, Robert or John at another time, just phone 236 5287 or email frrobert@livpc.co.uk
