Lintel International Ltd was formed in 1988 and was originally trading under Lynton Electrical Ltd, which was founded in 1973.

With the growth of the telecommunications market in the 1980's the demand for telecom installations outgrew electrical and Lintel International Ltd was formed to specialize in this market.

Continued growth in the 90s and a product distribution arm was added to the Lynton group of companies supplying cable & connectors.

In 1999 the Lynton name was dropped to incorporate electrical installation, telecom installation and telecom product distribution to be called Lintel International Ltd.
