TRAVEL DETAILS
This special heritage train offers a grand scenic circular tour over both East and West Coast Main Lines to Edinburgh, over 550 miles of scenery, with a break of around 4 hours during the world famous festival.
Outward we travel north over the Vale of York, past the White Horse of Kilburn, past Durham Cathedral, over the Tyne at Newcastle and then enjoy mile after mile of sea views, along the rugged Northumberland coastline with views over Bamburgh Castle, Alnmouth and Lindisfarne.
We arrive in Edinburgh at lunchtime. The city itself is mesmerizing enough, but ‘Athens of the North’ is undoubtedly at its most glorious during the Festival. This is when every corner of the city is infested with energy and activity. The streets fill with acrobats, fire eaters, stilt walkers and jugglers.
Our return route is over the West Coast through the remote borders and over Beattock Summit with beautiful views over the Solway Firth.
PRIVATE TABLES FOR 2: You can reserve these seats for a supplementary fee of £15 per person in first class accommodation.
DISABLED? Please contact the office to discuss your needs. We can help on and off the train and allocate seating near to the door and toilet.
