Maj.-Gen. Sir Reginald Thomas Thynne was the son of Reverend Lord John Thynne <p2413.htm> and Anne Constantia Beresford <p2413.htm>.1 He was born on 23 December 1843.1 He married Louise Du Bois, daughter of Douglas Du Bois, on 6 May 1890.1 He died on 30 December 1926 at age 83.1 He fought in the campaigns in Zululand, Sudan and Egypt.1 He gained the rank of commander before 1894 in the service of the 3rd Battalion, Grenadier Guards.1 He gained the rank of Major-General.1 He gained the rank of commander between 1894 and 1902 in the service of the North East District.1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1902.1
