Gower Furniture Ltd is committed to incorporating environmental best practice throughout all aspects of our operations wherever practicable. We recognise that environmental issues are of fundamental importance to our business operations, products and services and those of our clients.

We will strive towards the principles of sustainable development and seek to continuously improve our environmental performance. Gower Furniture Ltd is committed to implementing the actions listed below:

  1. Resources are allocated to implement the Environmental Management System (EMS) which monitors current and future environmental performance. This information will be used for the purposes of continued improvement;

  2. All operations undertaken by Gower Furniture Ltd will comply with all relevant UK environmental legislative and regulatory requirements;

  3. Continued improvement of measures to prevent pollution of the air, ground and water; and the reduction in energy usage and waste generation for all company operations;

  4. The recycling or re-use of waste arising from our operations will be carried out wherever practicable, together with the reduction of energy and resources;

  5. The Best Practicable Environmental Option (BPEO) will be considered for all new and where feasible, existing products and process developments;

  6. A 'chain of custody' system will be established with respect to our use of timber products and we will co-operate with our suppliers and sub-contractors to improve their environmental performance;

  7. Maintain an Environmental Management System (EMS) at all organisational levels to provide a framework for setting and reviewing environmental objectives and targets;

  8. Communicate the environmental policy internally to employees and externally, the latter by the use of appropriate public information such as company brochures, also via our website (and that of our holding company)
