In July, 2000, Failsafe Metering International won a British Government 'Smart Award' and licensed the Failsafe technology to Naka Failsafe Metering in Japan for the Asian and Pacific market.

In February, 2001, Failsafe Metering Inc was established in Michigan to cover the North American market.
