Fylde Brighter Writers Short Story and Poetry Competition 2010
Fylde Brighter Writers are delighted to launch their second short story competition following the success of our first but this time there is added poetry!
Short Story:
Prizes: First prize is £200 (and a trophy!)
Second prize is £50
3 runners up will each receive £25
Poetry:
Prizes: First Prize is £100 (and a trophy!)
Second Prize is £50
2 runners up will each receive £25
The winning entries will be published in Fylde Brighter Writers’ Anthology Summer 2010
Fees: £5 per short story submitted
£10 per 3 short stories submitted
£3 per poem submitted
£5 per 3 poems submitted
Individual comprehensive critiques are available for an additional fee of £10. The critiques will be available from the shortlist announcement date
Rules: Short Stories
v 2500 words maximum
v Subject: Open subject matter
V Poems
V No limit on poem length
vSubject: Open subject matter
v Closing date: February 27th 2010 for email and postal entries
v Stories & poems should be typed and double spaced on one side only
v Pages should be titled, numbered and securely fastened (if posted)
v You must also include, on a separate page, the following details:
Name, address, title of story or poem and number of words used and a statement to declare that this is your own, unpublished work. No names must appear on any manuscript.
Online entries: Submit email entries to: brighter_writers@btinternet.com and use the Pay Pal button at the bottom of this page to submit your entry fee. Save on your postage costs by emailing your stories and poems to us and by paying online but please note entries can only be judged once payment has been received.
Alternatively you can email the entry to us and lower your postage costs by sending the entry fee to the address listed below
Postal entries: Submit 2 copies of your story plus entry fee and details by post to:

A shortlist of possible winners will be posted on the website by 30th April 2010

Please note that manuscripts will not be returned. No members or relatives of Fylde Brighter Writers are eligible to enter the competition
